Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Ms. Lisa Hall on being named the Teacher of the Year for Fairview Elementary for 2023-2024!!

I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia.  I have two children, Isaiah 20 and Gabriella 17.

I received my education within the Atlanta Public and Dekalb County school systems. I attended Georgia Southern University and received a B.S. in Family & Consumer Sciences.  I received my teacher certification from Mercer University in Early Childhood Education. Sharp Learning Center is where I started my journey with Newton County Schools!  After five years of serving there as a paraprofessional, obtaining my teacher certification was my most logical step!  I transitioned to Live Oak Elementary once certified.  I have experience in the areas of preschool, 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades!  I most enjoy teaching science and social studies!  I have served in a variety of positions in my 20 plus years of service, including Tier 2 Pod Leader, Best Teacher Leader, Best Teacher Mentor, Cooperating Teacher for pre-service teachers, Team Lead, and EIP reading and math teacher!  I have served on the Leadership Team and Guided Coalition for our school.  To expand my professionalism, I make it a priority to attend trainings that assist teachers and students to improve academic success.

My primary goal at Fairview is to continue building strong relationships with students and their families.  I am known as the weird, crazy teacher at Fairview! I believe in being a strong advocate for students and teachers.  My top priority is to ensure my students are loved, know who they are and what they can accomplish.  In my teaching experience,  it has been paramount for me to teach students not only academic lessons, but life lessons.  I am very proud to be a Fairview Eagle!
